IIT JAM 2022 Application Form: IIT JAM stands for Joint Admission Test for Masters conducted by one of the participating IITs. Candidates who are interested in pursuing a Master’s programme from top college like IITs, NITs and IISc apply for this exam. IIT JAM is a national level exam that will be organized for offering admission into courses such as M.Sc. PhD, and M.Sc. PhD dual degree programmes at IIT institutions. Only the merit list candidates can attend the counselling process and get admission. IIT JAM 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Both Indian and Foreign Candidates can apply.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree.

The General/OBC-NCL Category candidates, have to get at least 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree, without rounding off (50% aggregate for candidates who belong to the SC/ST and PWD Category Candidates).

Candidates appearing in the final examination of their qualifying degree are also eligible for this entrance exam.

IIT JAM 2022 Application fee

For General or OBC category – Rs. 1500/-.

For SC or ST or PWD (male) and Female – Rs. 750/-

For both papers and belong to General or OBC category then you need to pay the payment of Rs. 2100/- and all the candidates from SC or ST or PWD and Female need to pay Rs. 1050/-

IIT JAM Exam Pattern

The paper pattern will be different as per the courses opted by the students.

The Exam Mode will be Online i.e. computer-based mode

A total of seven papers will be organized for the JAM exam.

The duration of the exam will be Three hours

The exam will be in English only

A total of 60 questions will be asked in the examination.

The question paper will be of 100 marks.

There will be negative marking only in Section A.

IIT JAM Counselling Schedule

IIT JAM counseling schedule will be organized after the result announcement of the IIT JAM examination. The candidate who falls in the category of merit list will be only applicable to participate in the counselling session of IIT JAM 2022. The counselling session will be conducted within the second or third week of April 2022

IIT JAM Syllabus

The appearing candidates for JAM 2022 should check the syllabus thoroughly to get well prepared for the examination. There will be 7 papers in the JAM 2022 for numerous M.Sc, Dual Degree courses and Ph.D. in Science.

Geology (GG): Applied Geology, Economic Geology, Petrology, Mineralogy, Stratigraphy, Palaeontology, Structural Geology, Geomorphology, The Planet Earth

Biological Sciences (BL): Mathematical Sciences, General Biology, Microbiology, Cell Biology and Immunology, Basics of Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology

Mathematics (MA): Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Group Theory, Vector Calculus, Differential Equations, Functions of Two Real Variables, Sequences and Series of Real Numbers

Biotechnology (BT): This paper consists of Physics (18% weightage), Mathematics (18% weightage), Chemistry (20% weightage) and Biology (44% weightage), The syllabus for BT will be of 10+2+3 level.

Mathematical Statistics (MS): This paper consists of Statistics (60% weightage) and Mathematics (40% weightage), Statistics- Testing of Hypotheses, Estimation, Sampling distribution, Joint distribution, Standard distributions, Random variables, Probability., Mathematics- Differential Equations, Matrices, Integral Calculus, Differential Calculus, Sequences, and Series.

Chemistry (CY): Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry
