A candidate will be selected for the Stenographer post only if he satisfies one of the following conditions: A candidate must be either:

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) The candidate is of Indian origin and has migrated from Sri Lanka, East African countries, Burma or Pakistan with a view to reside permanently in India,

(e) The candidate is a Tibetan refugee, whose ancestor had settled in India before 1.1.1962

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria (Qualification):

Applying Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or institutions.

They also have the skills in typing such as 40-50 minutes (In English) and 55- 65 minutes (In Hindi)

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria (Age Limit):

Age limit of applying candidates for SSC Stenographer Vacancy should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 27 years of age that is Candidates born not before 2nd August 1989 and not later than 1st August 1998.

For Stenographer Grade C:

Central Govt. Civilian Employees (General/Unreserved) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on Closing date

Up to 5 years

Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir (Unreserved/General) 5 years
Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir (OBC) 8 years
Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir (SC/ST) 10 years
For Group C post only – Post of Stenographer Grade D:

Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (Unreserved/General)

Up to 35 years of age
Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (OBC) Up to 38 years of age
Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ST) Up to 40 years of age
Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (Unreserved/General) 05 years
Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (OBC) 8 (3+5) years
